New Project - Photo Manager

I have just been given the task to convert our Photo Management System from Flex to HTML5. The current system has the ability to do the following:
  • Create Folders
  • Create Albums
  • Upload
  • Delete
  • Move to another Album
  • Copy to another Album
  • Move Albums to another Folder
  • Share Albums with other Users
Aside from that there really aren't many other features, it's pretty basic.  Along with all of the current features I am planning on adding the following to the new system:
  • Drag and Drop Upload (when available)
  • Import Photos from other services (Flickr, Picasa, SmugMug, etc.)
  • Basic Photo Manipulation (Red Eye Reduction, hue saturation)
  • Large Image Preview - similar to DropMocks.com
What other features would you like to see in a Photo Management System?  You can post your responses in the comment section.

The New Utah Nation

For those people that liked the old Utah Nation I thank you, but I have finally decided what I am going to be suing this blog for.  As some of you know I have decided to move on with my career and have accepted a position with a new company.  One of the major aspects of my new career is to help in the conversion of their existing Flex based applications to new technology that will be supported in the future and to also help them enter the mobile/tablet market.

While I have a background in using both HTML5 and Flex I have never done any migration from Flex to HTML5. As this is going to be a learning experience I hope to eventually perform for other organizations I don't want to forget the lessons I learned while working here.

I'd like to use this blog for the following purposes:

  • A learning repository where I post issues and solutions that have been resolved with the current Flex application.
  • New issues and solutions I have resolved with the conversion from Flex to HTML5.
  • Other concepts I find interesting.
I hope you will come back often and be able to use this a reliable resource.

As I have done on some of my other blogs, I will post the music I listened to while writing this post. I do this for two reasons one is to let you know a little bit who I am, and the other is to hopefully introduce you to some music.

  • The Dubliners
  • The Dropkick Murphys
  • Darby O'Gill
  • Flogging Molly
  • The Pogues
